SAVING A FOREST NEVER TASTED SO GOOD

A Sustainable Mission

Manifeste

We embrace the cause of the preservation of the juçara palm and devote all our energy to it. Choosing Juçaí is special. In addition to consuming a delicious superfood, you are helping to save the juçara palm from extinction.

From planting to selling, harvesting to production, everything we do is sustainable

During the harvest, Juçaï choses to keep 33% of the fruits of each palm tree to allow the animals to feed themselves and to disperse the seeds. With every dollar spent on our products, you are helping to preserve biodiversity in the Atlantic Forest.

Did you know that the Jucara tree is found in the Atlantic Forests located along the coast of Brazil, and also stretches to the far north of Argentina and Paraguay. It’s here that the Super Fruits used to make our delicious products grow.

Jucai has a business model that allows it to focus its production on the fruit rather than the heart of the tree, which allows us to preserve the tree and give it ongoing value. Visit our website to discover our actions in terms of palm tree preservation.

The Juçaí
cycle

Sustainability is present in all our actions!

From planting the fruit to selling the product, we embrace the preservation and conservation of nature as a cause.

Açaí can come from different trees, including Euterpe edulis, a native palm and symbol of the Atlantic Forest. Popularly known as juçara, it produces a fruit that, in addition to being delicious, contains many more antioxidants than traditional acai. Unfortunately, this tree is threatened with extinction.

Its palm tree is highly valued, but to be obtained the palm tree must be felled, and since there is no regrowth, the tree eventually dies.

In our production we use the juçara fruit, preserving and giving an economic value to the standing tree. That’s why choosing Juçaí is so special! You are consuming a superfood, very nutritious and energetic, and also helping to save the juçara palm.

Seedlings

In nature, species live in a constant and natural exchange with each other and with the environment around them. The fruit of the juçara palm is an important food source for several animals of the Atlantic Forest which, in turn, disperse the seeds, planting new generations of the tree.

Relation avec les collectionneurs

The importance of the juçara also involves the local community, which has strong cultural roots with the palm tree. When we give an economic value to the living tree, while preserving its fruit, we also fairly remunerate the collector, a very important figure for the ecosystem. Therefore, we respect the socio-cultural relationships of the Atlantic Forest, which involve the environment, the species and the local community.

In our harvest, we have preserved 33% of the fruits of each palm tree, ensuring the nourishment of these animals and the maintenance of this cycle.
In addition, we do not use any type of synthetic fertilizer or pesticides, only natural resources. We also help the animals even more: with each juçaí produced, we return the seeds to the Atlantic Forest, thus making new juçaras germinate.
